Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has revealed the picks for the second season of her book club, The Reading Room, Town and Country reports.
Camilla shared her four selections on the book club’s Instagram account Friday morning. Among the picks is The Secret Commonwealth: The Book of Dust, Volume Two by English author (and knight) Philip Pullman.
Like all the books to be selected for the club’s second season, Pullman’s book was previously recommended as part of two pandemic reading lists shared by the duchess last year.
Irish author Edna O’Brien’s Girl is among Camilla’s picks, as was Antoine Lauraine’s The Red Notebook.
Rounding out the list is Amor Towles’ A Gentleman in Moscow, which was a Kirkus Prize finalist in 2016.
“The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room was inspired by the positive response to the reading lists published by Her Royal Highness at Easter and in the summer of 2020,” Clarence House, the duchess’ residence, said in a statement. “It was this feedback that encouraged The Duchess to explore the idea of a more permanent community to enable readers to dive deeper into some of these titles, discover new ones, and celebrate literature.”
Camilla’s book club launched in January, with selections including Hilary Mantel’s The Mirror and the Light and William Boyd’s Restless.
